Gabriel has been an analytics consultant in professional sports since 2003 and both runs a hockey statistics website (Behind the Net.ca) and contributes to an analytics/Winnipeg Jets blog (Arctic Ice Hockey.) He has a MSc in Electrical Engineering from UC - Berkeley and a BSc from Queen's University and has worked in the wireless industry since 1998 (Linkedin profile). He grew up in Winnipeg, MB, speaks both of Canada's official languages and has played organized hockey since he was seven years old, including one season with the UC - Berkeley club hockey team.
